Laurence is one of the leading creators of new British musical theatre. He is the composer, lyricist and writer of the award-winning Off-Broadway (2011) musical TOMORROW MORNING which is performed around the world: London, New York, Chicago, Tokyo, Seoul, Melbourne, Germany, Vienna, Lisbon, Rome, with more European and USA productions planned.  For performance rights or for more information please see below.   A further production in Seoul ran in 2018.

Laurence’s dramatic new musical MIDNIGHT, written with Timothy Knapman, ran with 4 and 5 star reviews at the Union Theatre, London, produced by Debunk Theatre in September 2018 and the same production was then performed with a Korean cast in Seoul for three months at the beginning of 2019.        Laurence’s work with Irvine Welsh and Don de Grazia on the musical CREATIVES was seen in 2017 in Chicago and then played at the Pleasance at the Edinburgh Festival, with original score and lyrics by Laurence.

Laurence in collaboration with Timothy Knapman was commissioned by Made in Corby in association with Perfect Pitch to write a new family musical entitled DANNY HERO, which was produced with a young cast at The Core in Corby to great success in October 2016 and is now published by Theatrical Rights Worldwide in London.

Laurence’s original new musical THROUGH THE DOOR (book by Judy Freed) received a world premiere production in Seoul, Korea in 2015 and his new family musical GROWL, co-written with Timothy Knapman, was presented in workshop by the National Youth Music Theatre at the beginning of August 2018, and will tour in a full production with the young NYMT company in 2019.

Laurence was featured as the first composer in the new season of Sunday evenings in February 2019,  showcasing the best of British Musical Theatre writing,  at the Union Theatre, London.

A four-hander,  the musical is the moving and funny story of two couples – one about to marry, one about to divorce. It has been translated into four languages: Japanese, Korean, German and Portuguese.
