Sophie Dix trained as an actor and has worked in film, television and theatre. In her twenties she wrote and performed her own poetry with a group called The Paradigm Poets. Later she formed a theatre company called Birds of Britain with whom she occasionally writes and performs.
Early writing commissions focussed on comedy and included: BOGMAN - a collection of monologues written and performed by female comedians (BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, 2002); and sit-com CALIFORNIA SANDS (Carlton TV).
Sophie enjoys regular re-writing assignments on film scripts including most recently LOUIS for Cloud Media Entertainment.
Whether writing about older citizens refusing to conform or younger people on the search for connection, Sophie will always take a fresh and unexpected approach. Current original projects on her slate include: THE OYSTERCATCHER a wry silver surfer romcom, LOVE HOOLIGAN a story about a love addict ranging from boho North London to the wilds of the seashore and THE INTRUDERS a voyage of discovery set in Paris.
