Estate of Richard Cooper

Richard wrote superb historical drama and action adventure for young people including adaptations e.g. CHILDREN OF THE NEW FOREST with Peter Tabern.

A fine episode from his adult drama series SHADOW OF THE NOOSE (BBC, 1989), an 8-part dramatisation of the life of the famous Edwardian advocate Sir Edward Marshall Hall, was repeated as part of BBC4's THE BIRTH OF NOW Edwardian season (2007). We along with many of the original viewers hope that the whole series will be available on our screens again before long. Its graceful and fluent scripts were well served by an excellent production team and it is a classic of its time.
