Charles's most recent work for the large screen was as co-writer with Terry Gilliam of Terry's extraordinary THE IMAGINARIUM OF DOCTOR PARNASSUS.  Starring the late Heath Ledger in his last role - a role taken over mid-way through production by Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law - and with other lead cast including Christopher Plummer, Tom Waits, Andrew Garfield and Lily Cole, the film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival 2009.  Subsequently it performing particularly strongly in Italy and was widely nominated for top awards including Academy Award nominations for Costume Design and Art Direction and BAFTA nominations for Production Design and Make Up.

 

Other development work includes horror/comedy THE KATAKOMB KLUB for Studio Urania, Rome and director Michele Soave and psychological thriller THE WOMAN I LOVE (rewrite) for director Douglas Law and Produire a Paris, France.

 

Charles is currently adapting Pierre Chesnot's comedy À VOS SOUHAITS (English title HEARSE OR WORSE) for the UK stage.
