Charles Bloom | Composer | Lyricist


Charles Bloom is originally from LA and is now New York based. He was born to the late screenwriter, Harold Jack Bloom and the late actress, Carolyn Kearney. He studied Music Composition and Psychology at NYU.

 

His songs have been performed by a stellar list of artists in the US including: Patti LuPone, Mandy Patinkin, Christine Ebersole, and Michael Feinstein.     

 

Theatre credits to date include the book, music and lyrics to PABLO, INSOMNIA and HEAVEN KNOWS. Charles has contributed material to countless cabaret acts, special events and active archives of some of his catalogue are currently held by the Musical Theatre Departments of over 25 colleges in the US and abroad.  

 

Charles was selected as a finalist in the Stiles and Drewe Best New Song of 2010 Award with his song YOU’RE AS GOOD AS IT GETS performed at the Award Ceremony at The Queen’s Theatre in the West End and in 2010/11 his songs have featured in a number of West End cabarets.    

 

SNAPPY TITLE: DREAM A LITTLE DREAM starring performers from the West End including Issy Van Randwyck, Cassidy Janson and Lucy May Barker and THE APRIL REVUE, London’s Little Opera House, OPENING DOORS at the Soho Theatre and GALA at Greenwich Theatre.    Further cabarets of Charles’ work are planned for 2012 as well as productions of his musicals.
