Teresa trained in acting, mime and devised physical theatre and writes for stage and TV.
She’s written book and lyrics for two musicals with composer Steven Edis: POSSESSED a Pre-Raphaelite Musical Play (Camden People’s Theatre, with workshop performances at the Arts Theatre London and Oxford Playhouse) and a musical adaptation of Dodie Smith’s I CAPTURE THE CASTLE (developed & premiered at Watford Palace Theatre and toured to Oxford Playhouse and Bolton Octagon, with workshops at the National Theatre Studio and the Theatre Royal Drury Lane). A new production of I CAPTURE THE CASTLE is in development. Edis and Howard’s songs have been performed in cabaret and musical theatre festivals in both the UK and USA.
Teresa is working with composer Sarah Llewellyn on a musical adaptation of William Nicholson’s award winning young adult novel, THE WIND SINGER , which recently had a showcase at BEAM2018 at the Theatre Royal, Stratford East and is now being developed at the Royal Shakespeare Company to be directed in workshop by Lotte Wakeham. She is also working on a stage adaptation of THE SNOW QUEEN .
Plays include: GROCK , BADER AND DOOLITTLE , STONEFIST , MUSIC ON THE METRO and REV LUKE’S USEFUL SHOW . Teresa also works as a dramaturg, most recently for Watford Palace Theatre on a production of TREASURE ISLAND by James Williams. She’s a director of Kelmscott Productions, member of the Board of Mercury Musical Developments, and leads the MMD. Writers LAB I. She’s received a number of residential writing fellowships including a year at Winchester School of Art and residencies at the Hosking Houses Trust.
